Building a Weeks Worth of Meals
So in the beginning of the week I like to pick a meat and build as many meals as I can from that one piece of meat. On monday I bought a 2lb. Pork Loin and cooked it for 5 hours in the crock pot.
I rubbed it with minced garlic, salt and pepper. I put it in the crock pot with red wine, onions, soy sauce and dry onion powder.
Today I decided to make tacos with it because thats what I do with just about everything. I made guacamole with pickled sweet corn, white onion, tomato and cilantro, pickled radishes (my first time making these) and Sriracha (my favorite hot sauce) When I reheated the pork in a skillet I put Trader Joe's Island Soyaki sauce to give it a sweet flavor to contrast the other salty flavors. I pretty much love every taco I ever make but these knocked my sox off.
I still have about 3/4 of a lb of meat left after my lady and I have both eaten 2 meals with the same pork loin that cost $12

They are frozen but affordable and delicious.

Eating My Way into The Fall Season
Not my ideal meal but this manly man meal was what I ate at WhisknLadle in La Jolla. The pork belly was the seller and thats what I got the least of in this meat ridden cast iron pot of love. I don't like sausage at all but this homemade rendition was both sweet and spicy and pretty good. The sweet breads I had as an appetizer were amazing but I forgot to take a picture of them.
My lady got the scallops which she has had before and loved them as usual.
This is a little something me and my lady collaborated on for dinner last night. I don't eat much pasta at all but this was Qunoia pasat and actually tasted amazing. We put sun dried tomatoes, asparagus, crimini mushrooms, garlic, olive oil, fresh water prawns and S&P together and it turned out to be quite nice. I peeled the prawns and did the plating as not to confuse those who may want credit where credit is due. Its simple and anyone can make this. Pair it with some wine and Enjoy!!!
