El Camino Turns 1

El Camino in Little Italy is having a 1 Year Anniversary party this friday. The new spot formerly known as the Airport Lounge has been packed all year with some of Disco's and Yacht rocks finest DJ's including Dirty Dave, Posso, Cosmic Kids and Hoff. Locals like Adam Salter, Colourvision, Kimbo and one of my personal favorites Ikah Love. If you have not had the pleasure of seeing Ikah on a saturday night do yourself a favor and do so. Mayor Hawthorne played a DJ set a few weeks ago and so did Maseo from De La Soul. Definitely one of my favorite spots to play a set. They have amazing food at low prices, great Sangria, friendly staff and a sunday brunch that can't be beat with $1 mimosas and DJ's spinning the sunday jamz. Mauricio, Alex and crew have outdone themselves and created a unique atmosphere that has people from all over town making el Camino a must visit at least once if not a few dozen times much like myself. They have Julius Papp from Montreal currently residing in S.F. this friday for the anniversary who has been in the game a long time. Expect classic house and disco all night long. Then saturday they celebrate again with Mr. Ikah Love playing every hot song from the past 3 decades that will have the dance floor going from the time he turns on the tables till they have to close the doors. Get there early and have dinner. Kitchen open till 11.
